OCD: Conditions for Allowing · Last updated: 7 August 2026
The short version: if what you bought isn't right for you, email me and I'll refund you. No forms, no hoops, no questions about whether you "did the work." This page sets out the specifics for each product, and it sits alongside the full Terms of Service.
Who you're buying from
David Laing, a sole trader trading as OCD: Conditions for Allowing, Eastbourne, East Sussex, United Kingdom. Contact for anything on this page: david@conditionsforallowing.com. Postal address: Heathcote, Eastbourne BN21 1BZ, United Kingdom.
What we sell
OCD: Conditions for Allowing publishes self-help books and study materials. Our products are informational and educational, and they do not constitute medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
The eBook — "OCD: Conditions for Allowing" (£4.99): a digital download, PDF and EPUB.
The Starter Kit (£27): a digital study-materials bundle with lifetime access via the portal.
The Allowing Toolkit (£97): a digital toolkit — a daily practice, a guided meditation and a short course, with lifetime access via the portal. Offered once, after checkout, to book buyers.
The Allowing app (£37/month; £27/month if you locked the founders' rate before launch): a monthly subscription for the app on your phone, bought on this website. It is its own product and does not come with the book.
Refunds on the eBook, Starter Kit and Allowing Toolkit
30 days, no hoops. Because these are digital products, you get access immediately. If it isn't right for you, email me within 30 days of purchase and I'll refund you in full.
How to ask: one email to david@conditionsforallowing.com from the address you bought with. You don't need to explain yourself, though I always read it if you do.
How long it takes: I action refunds within 2 working days of your email. Your bank or card issuer then takes its own time — usually 5–10 working days — to show the money back on your statement.
Where it goes: refunds are made to the original payment method. I can't refund to a different card or account.
Partial orders: if you bought the eBook, the Starter Kit and/or the Allowing Toolkit together, you can refund any of them — one, two, or all three.
Refunds on the Allowing app subscription
30 days on your first month. If it isn't for you, email me within 30 days of subscribing and I'll refund that month in full.
The 7-day trial: if you took the app as an option at the book checkout, cancel inside the 7 days and you are never charged — there is nothing to refund, and you keep it to the end of the 7 days.
Cancel anytime. Cancelling stops future payments, and your access runs to the close of the period you've paid for. You don't lose the rest of a month you've paid for.
How to cancel or ask: reply to any email from me, email david@conditionsforallowing.com from the address you subscribed with, or use the cancel page. I do it by hand, within one working day.
Your book, Starter Kit and portal access are not affected by cancelling the app — they are separate purchases and they stay yours.
Our other products
Coaching sessions, memberships and programmes are sold separately, not through this checkout. Each carries its own guarantee, set out in section 6 of the Terms of Service.
Your statutory rights
Nothing on this page reduces your rights as a consumer. UK consumers ordinarily have a 14-day cooling-off period for distance purchases; for digital content downloaded immediately, that right ends once the download begins and you've agreed to it — which is precisely why the 30-day promise above exists on top. If the law gives you more than this policy does, the law wins.
Faulty or undelivered
If a download doesn't arrive, a file won't open, or the portal won't let you in, email me and I'll fix it — usually the same day. That's a support issue, not a refund one, and it never counts against your 30 days.
A note on what this is — and isn't
I'm not a therapist or doctor, and nothing I publish is therapy, medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. I write from lived experience of OCD and complete recovery. This work can sit alongside professional care, but it isn't a replacement for it — and please don't change or stop any medication without talking to whoever prescribed it.
If you're in crisis right now, please don't wait for an email. In the UK: call Samaritans free on 116 123 (any time, day or night), call NHS 111 and choose the mental health option, or dial 999 if you or someone else is in immediate danger. Outside the UK, contact your local emergency number or a crisis line where you are. Reaching for that kind of help is never a step backwards.
