OCD: Conditions for Allowing · Last updated: 10 July 2026
These are the terms for buying and using anything from OCD: Conditions for Allowing — the book, the Starter Kit, the Recovery Circle, the portal, and my coaching programmes. They're written to be read, not skimmed-and-regretted. The short version: I'll be straight with you, the guarantees below are real, and this work is coaching and education — not therapy or medical treatment.
1. Who you're dealing with
David Laing, a sole trader trading as OCD: Conditions for Allowing, Eastbourne, East Sussex, United Kingdom. Contact: david@conditionsforallowing.com. Postal address: Heathcote, Eastbourne BN21 1BZ, United Kingdom.
2. The most important term: this is not therapy
I'm not a therapist, psychologist, or doctor, and nothing I offer — the book, the courses, the tools, the community, the calls, the programmes — is therapy, medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. I teach from lived experience of OCD and complete recovery, and from the work I've done with clients since.
What that means in practice:
This work can sit alongside professional care. It is not a replacement for it.
Never change or stop medication because of anything in my materials without talking to whoever prescribed it.
If you're under the care of a mental health professional, you don't have to choose between us — and if I ever think you need support I can't provide, I'll say so plainly.
If you're in crisis, please don't wait for an email or a call with me. In the UK: Samaritans, free, 116 123 (any hour, any day) · NHS 111 (choose the mental health option) · 999 if you or someone else is in immediate danger. Outside the UK: your local emergency number or a local crisis line. Reaching for that kind of help is never a step backwards.
3. What you're buying
The eBook — "OCD: Conditions for Allowing" (£4.99): a digital download.
The Starter Kit (£27): a digital course bundle with lifetime access via the portal.
The Allowing Session (£247): a single one-to-one coaching session with me (60 minutes, on Zoom), booked after I've read your request. Payment is taken when you book. If you go on to work with me further, the full £247 is credited toward that.
The Recovery Circle (£97/month): a monthly membership — weekly guided session, portal tools and courses, community. Cancel anytime; cancelling stops future payments and your access ends at the close of the period you've paid for.
The Implementation Programme (price as agreed on your call; 6 months): 1:1 coaching, group calls, daily support, full portal access. Programme specifics are confirmed in writing before you join.
Bespoke Recovery (£1,497): a made-for-you, finite programme — details on its offer page.
Prices are as shown at checkout. I can change prices for the future at any time; changes never touch what you've already bought, and membership price changes reach existing members only with advance notice.
4. Refunds and guarantees — the real terms
eBook and Starter Kit: because they're digital, you get access immediately. If it's not right for you, email me within 30 days and I'll refund you — no hoops.
The Allowing Session: move or cancel your session any time up to 24 hours before it starts, for a full refund or a new time — just email me. And if you do the session and honestly got nothing from it, tell me and I'll refund it. You also have the statutory 14-day cooling-off period from payment; booking a session inside those 14 days is your request for the service in that window, and your statutory rights are otherwise unaffected.
Recovery Circle:30-day money-back guarantee on your first month — if it's not for you, email me within 30 days of joining for a full refund. After that, cancel anytime as above.
Bespoke Recovery: give it an honest go, and if within 90 days it isn't right for you, email me and I'll refund you in full. No form, no hoops, no questions about whether you "did the work."
Implementation Programme — the commitment guarantee: if you complete the 6-month programme and haven't reached the Definition of Success we agreed at the start, I continue working with you free until you have. One honest condition: the free continuation depends on you actually showing up — two missed 1:1 calls without a legitimate reason communicated in advance (illness, real emergencies, and family or work crises always get the benefit of the doubt) ends the free-continuation promise, though the programme itself still runs its full 6 months either way.
Nothing here reduces your statutory rights as a UK consumer — if the law gives you more than these terms do, the law wins.
5. Your account and access
One account, one person. Don't share logins or redistribute materials — this work funds itself through the people it serves.
Keep your login details safe; tell me if you think someone else has them.
I can suspend or close an account that's being abused (sharing paid content, scraping, harassment in the community) — with a refund of any unused paid period unless the abuse was serious.
6. The community and calls
Group spaces (the Skool community, group calls) work because they're safe. What others share there stays there. Repeating someone else's story outside the space is grounds for removal.
The weekly Recovery Circle session runs in Zoom Focus Mode — you only see me. Recordings of the weekly Recovery Circle session are for my own reference only and are never shared. On the Implementation Programme group call, only the short opening teaching segment is recorded; hot-seats never are.
Be human with each other. I reserve the right to remove anyone who makes the space unsafe, with a pro-rata refund of any unused period.
7. Intellectual property
Everything I sell — the book, courses, tools, scripts, recordings — is mine (or licensed to me) and protected by copyright. Your purchase gives you a personal, non-transferable licence to use it for your own recovery. It doesn't give you the right to copy, resell, share, teach from, or feed it to an AI training set. If you're a professional who wants to use the framework in your own practice, email me — that's a conversation, not a licence violation waiting to happen.
8. Honest limits on what I promise
I promise the guarantees in section 4, honest effort, and materials that say what I actually believe to be true. I don't promise outcomes. Recovery stories on my pages are real, but they're individual results, not a forecast of yours — everyone's history and pace are different. You're responsible for the decisions you make about your own life and health (see section 2).
9. Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law says can't be excluded. Beyond that, my total liability to you in connection with any product or programme is limited to the amount you paid me for it. I'm not liable for losses that have nothing to do with what you bought (lost profits, lost data from your own systems, and so on), or for the acts of platforms I don't control (Zoom, Skool, WhatsApp, app stores).
10. The boring-but-necessary
Governing law: England and Wales. If you're a consumer elsewhere in the UK or EU, you keep any mandatory protections of where you live, and you can bring proceedings in your local courts.
Changes: I can update these terms; significant changes get emailed to active customers and members before they take effect. The current version always lives at this address.
If one clause fails, the rest stand.
Questions first: if something's gone wrong, email me before anything else — almost everything is fixable in one honest exchange.
A note on what this is — and isn't
I'm not a therapist or doctor, and nothing here is therapy, medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. I teach from lived experience of OCD and complete recovery. This work can sit alongside professional care, but it isn't a replacement for it — and please don't change or stop any medication without talking to whoever prescribed it.
If you're in crisis right now, please don't wait for an email or a call with me. In the UK: call Samaritans free on 116 123 (any time, day or night), call NHS 111 and choose the mental health option, or dial 999 if you or someone else is in immediate danger. Outside the UK, contact your local emergency number or a crisis line where you are. Reaching for that kind of help is never a step backwards.
